Evan Spiegel: In 2015, Miranda Kerr, an Australian model, and Spiegel started dating. They got married in May 2017 after being engaged in July 2016. Hart Kerr Spiegel (born in 2018) and Myles Spiegel are their two sons (born 2019).

He disclosed in 2018 that he actually went back and finished his unfinished degree requirements, graduating from Stanford that same year, motivated by the birth of his first kid. Spiegel was granted French citizenship in 2018 despite not having a permanent address there. He was permitted to do so because to a provision in French citizenship regulations that exempts applicants who have made contributions to French culture or the economy from the obligation to dwell in France.

On June 4, 1990, Evan Thomas Spiegel was born in Los Angeles, California. John W. Spiegel and Melissa Ann Thomas, his parents, are also attorneys. He was brought up in an Episcopalian home in Pacific Palisades, California. The Santa Monica Crossroads School for Arts and Sciences served as his high school. He studied design at the Pasadena Art Center College of Design and Otis Institute of Art & Design while still a high school student. He went on to Stanford University to finish his education.

Spiegel came up with the concept for an app with ephemeral messaging while a student at Stanford where he studied product design for a class project. Even though his peers did not agree with him, he persisted. Instead, he collaborated on the concept with Bobby Murphy and Reggie Brown, two other Stanford undergraduates. The prototype was introduced under the name Picaboo.

Reggie Brown quit the business at some point during the year 2011. Later, he would sue Evan and Bobby, alleging that he had invented Snapchat. In the end, Reggie Brown was awarded a $158 million settlement.

They subsequently changed the name to “Snapchat,” and by 2012, the app had more than 1 million daily active users. Spiegel really dropped out of Stanford just before graduating in order to devote all of his attention to the app.
